Tapos na rin ang weekend duties ko, sa wakas

Yey! No more duty every Saturday and Sunday starting tomorrow! Last day ko na sa Antipolo Medical Hospital for my special duty in NCM 103. Nine weeks ako dun tuwing Saturday at Sunday together with four of my co-irregular batch mates. It wasn’t easy tho since I have regular duties too every Monday to Wednesday then regular classes pa every Thursday and Friday, so bale every day akong may pasok. WTF. Nakakapagod, yes. Pero I really enjoyed those days na kasama ko silang apat. Sayang lang at ngayon ang last day na magkakasama kami.

For our celebration, iinom kami Saturday next week since di ako pwede bukas. And lagot ako for sure. I don’t drink and my parents don’t like me drinking kasi. I just hope hindi ako halatang uminom pag-uwi ko. Haha.

I wonder why most Filipino people reject compliments. I mean, when a person told someone that he or she’s good looking, they always tend to disapprove to it. They tend to say “Oh no, Im not really pretty. I’m ugly actually.” or something like “Don’t say that, you’re more beautiful than I am.” yada yada. I personally think that was impolite.

We can say naman “Thank you. Sana ikaw din.” LOLJK

Okay, I was just kidding back there. But why not try saying thank you instead? Accept the compliment and if you’d like, you can give them back a compliment too. That would be better if you’ll ask me. And don’t tell you’re just being humble. Why? You’ll just have to say thank you, is it already far from being humble?

Sayang kasi yung effort nung nagbigay ng compliment eh, tapos irereject nyo lang. Gets?

Noynoy's inauguration tomorrow

Yes! That means no classes! Now I’ll have ample time to review five chapters for our long quiz in Psychiatric Nursing this Thursday. :)

And speaking of our new president’s inauguration, I remember there were rumors at school before that we are required to attend this inauguration since we are FEU-NRMF students. What’s the connect? Well, you know Josephine Cojuangco-Reyes? She’s the chair of the board of our school and the elder sister of the former president Cory Aquino (Noynoy’s mother), so we are connected to Noynoy somehow. I also hear she’s giving five million pesos? I dunno where I heard it. /facepalm

I was relieved that it was just a rumor tho, cause I’m not interested to go actually.

Okay, so this coming school year will be my last year in college (YES!). I can’t wait to graduate and take a long break from all those studying, hospital duties, and whatsoever.. Well, actually not. I’m sure I’ll be busy engaging in review sessions for my own preparations in the board exam. I know it’ll be a very hard time, but I believe I can make it. :)

Anyway, first semester is yet to come and I am already having problems in regards to my tuition fee. I’m still an irregular student and I have additional subjects for this coming semester, and additional subjects means an increase in my tuition. I still don’t know how much is my tuition but I am thinking it would reach 70k. Too much, you think? What can we expect? It’s FEU, the Fastest Earning University. Hehehe.

Clearance signing

Di ko alam kung uso din ito sa ibang universities, pero grabe, pati sa pagkuha ng clearance nakaka-toxic din.

Kelangang may dala kang medyo malaki-laking pera (at nakahanda ang mga receipts) para kung sakaling may mga kailangan pang bayaran or whatever, eh ready ka at hindi mangarag. At tsaka wag kalimutan ang baon, sa init ng panahon ngayon ay hindi maiiwasang hindi ka mapabili ng coke o kahit anong pantawid-uhaw, or baka naman pagkain kung likas na sayo ang pagiging patay-gutom.

Tapos maliban sa pera, kelangan ding magbaon ng maraming tiyaga at pasensya. Lam mo na, kelangan nating maging boy scouts at girl scouts, baka may mangyaring di maganda eh. Yung iba pa naman prone sa pagiging bv.

Isa pang mahirap sa mga ganitong araw ay yung manghahagilap pa sa mga nawawalang professors at ibang mga taga-admin. Dalawa lang naman kasi ang ibig sabihin nun. It’s either super busy sila talaga or sadyang nagtatago lamang. Pero isa lang ang masasabi ko dyan, hindi na nila kelangang magtago pa dahil hindi naman tayo mga pamangkin nila. Gets? Ok. Nvm.

Pero syempre ang masaya tuwing clearance signing ay yung makita ang mga classmates, kaibigan, at mga kabarkada. Yung sabay-sabay kayo sa lahat ng bagay tapos maraming laughtrip, kakain ng sabay-sabay, then mauuwi ang lahat sa tambay o gimik. After all yun naman talaga ang pakay mo diba? :)

GIBO-BINAY FTW!

I would have voted for GIBO-BINAY on the national elections if I were only able to register, eh kaso hindi. So I’m left all alone in this house while the whole family’s voting. It wasn’t really a big deal for me not to vote, pero sayang din. Alam mo yung baka ang vote ko pa ang makapanalo sa mga bets ko. Haha.

But I’m really hoping for Gibo Teodoro to win the presidential race, or Dick Gordon if not Gibo. Basta wag lang si Villar and Aquino.

Well, I don’t like Villar and Aquino actually. Manny Villar may be good but there’s smth really fishy about him, and besides, he has lots of real and made-up issues going on. I hope he clears them all first before anything else. I even didn’t like it when his party let his mother cry and comment on national television. It’s like, for me, they’re getting the public’s sympathy so that the people will vote for Villar.

Noynoy Aquino, on the other hand, IMO, I think it’s not his time yet. Look, I hear he’s not doing that much during his senator years unlike those other senators running for presidency. He even has his own big issues too.

About Gibo, actually parang it’s unwise sabihin na he’s already corrupt just because he is the bet of the Arroyo administration. He may be fresh and not as successful as Gordon and the others, but with his intelligence, skills/talent, and platform (plataporma) combined, there could be a change.

We all want change and all the presidential and other official candidates are offering change naman. Now, it is our duty and responsibility as the citizens to elect the people who will lead us and start the change we all are longing for. I only hope we’ll choose not just the right, but the BEST one to be our country’s leader.

Dear people, please don’t make your own rules in blogging. It doesn’t make you smart at all.

Remember, blogging DOES NOT only focus on making long texts. If you do a little effort and research, we have these so-called photoblogs, art blogs, vlogs (video blogs), music blogs, mp3 blogs, podcasts, microblogs, blah blah and whatsoever.

We just want our pages to be as lively as it could be by combining those mentioned previously, and we enjoy it. C’mon, you really don’t need to ruin the fun we’re having, do yah?

We were initially blogging peacefully and then you and your post came bashing and indirectly speaking to us. I find it rude.. and ironic at the same time. I ask you, have you been checking your archive for once in a while? I bet not. I suggest you do check it right now.

You also talked about limitations and responsibilities. Do you know your limitations? Your responsibilities? Cause if I have to check your archive again, I’ll say you don’t know that you also violated those “limitations and responsibilities” you guys are talking about. How foolish.

And oh btw, please don’t act like judges and critics. I still know that we have our own preferences and opinions about things, but you don’t need to slap those preferences and opinions of yours in our faces. You’re being mean.

I never realized something like this would be so painful. I keep on saying to myself that whatever result may come up, I’m ready to accept it with everything I’ve got. I thought I could endure it, but hell I can’t. It hurts. It really hurts.. so bad.

I failed one of my subjects. And now there's only two choices I could do: (1) find another school who would still accept old curriculum students, or (2) stay at FEU though graduation will be delayed for one more year. Actually I've already set my mind that I should graduate with my friends at FEU, though I think that would be impossible now. That is why my pride hurts a lot. A LOT.

Villar was never a Tondo poor boy

THE MARCH 7 ARTICLE ON Manny Villar’s house along Moriones Street in Tondo confirmed the belief that he was never poor, never spent his Christmas on the street and never swam in a pool of garbage. In the early 1960s, if you had a three-story house in a 60-square-meter lot in the business district of Tondo, you were considered an aristocrat.

Not too far from that Moriones house were shanties leading to the pier where children went to the nearby public schools for education. Such was not the case of Villar: he went to Holy Child Catholic School for his elementary education and to Mapua for high school. Coming from Moriones going to Mapua, Villar had to pass by three outstanding public high schools: Jose Abad Santos High School, Arellano High School and Teodora Agoncillo High School, and public schools in the latter part of the 1950s and 1960s were at their best.

But not for the Villar children. Because their father was a white-collar employee and they had a businesswoman for a mother, Manny and his siblings were able to study in the best private schools nearby. They had corned beef for breakfast (as told in Villar’s ad with Boy Abunda) and I am pretty sure suahe and other seafoods for lunch or dinner.

During the times that Villar claimed he was poor, his family actually belonged to the AB and upper C economic strata or the top 10 percent of the population. As in the C-5 controversy, in the conversion of agricultural land in Iloilo, in the landgrabbing of the Dumagats’ land in Norzagaray and his questionable use of socialized housing funds among many others, Villar shows a penchant for covering the truth.

I hope television’s investigative journalists can dig deeper into this so the poor people who are being used will find out the truth.

Review: My Girl and I (Korean movie)

SYNOPSIS:

A simple teenager Su-ho (Cha Tae-Hyun) and the pretty and popular Su-Eun (Song Hye-Kyo) start dating. Their young love is the object of much jealousy from all the other students, but for Su-ho and Su-Eun, their love just seems splendid and eternal. Until Su-ho finds out something tragic about the girl he loves.

"My Girl and I" is the remake of the Japanese box-office hit "Crying Out Love from the Centre of the World".

REVIEW:

Plot. The plot isn't original at all since this movie is a remake from a Japanese film. But I still find the movie interesting and appealing. The scenes, especially the ending part were executed very well, as well as some of the funny scenes. 6/10.

Acting. Both Song Hye-Kyo and Cha Tae-Hyun are great actors. For me, they portrayed their roles perfectly. Their acting was set to mild though, but it suits just fine since the plot wasn't complicated to begin with. It was a good choice for not making the movie into a heavy drama (just like those TV series we love to watch). Even if it was a light drama, the ending was so tragic that even I cried the first time I watched it. 9/10.

Music. The music showed emotions too, it was perfect! 10/10.

I haven't watched the Japanese film yet but I have to say this movie was an A+. People who loves Korean and tragic love stories should try watching this one.

Once upon a time, blah blah blah (skipping the not so important details). And then I was in SM Fairview already at 11.30am but my friends arrived at 12 noon; we were planning to watch Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief today. Eh my leader in our Nursing Research group suddenly called an emergency meeting at 1pm, so we canceled the movie and ate lunch instead then I headed for school for our meeting.

When I arrived, I discovered that we'll be conducting our survey (for our thesis) today but things aren't settled yet so we have to wait for 2 more hours before we can start. I really think I have wasted my chance; I should have stayed in SM a little longer and watched the movie if only I knew we'll gonna do nothing and just wait there.

It was already 3.30pm when we finally started. Me and my partner went to our assigned barangay to conduct our survey. But wala kaming napala. People were either busy or they didn't like to participate; we were only able to get one respondent. It was already getting dark so we decided to go home.

And now I have to wait for next week again just to watch Percy Jackson. Fuck. T_T

My current subjects are killing me. Seriously. I got low scores last prelims, I've been doing bad this midterms, and I don't know if having high grades for finals is still enough to pull my grades up. /facepalm

Btw midterms is coming to an end (finally) with only one subject left this Saturday. History, that is. The previous three were all disasters: RLE was 50/50; MedSurg pwned me; and Research killed me just today. /another facepalm

Ugh, I think my lifestyle is killing me. I always sleep late like around 1 to 2pm even during weekdays; I wake up at 11am at weekends which sometimes causes me to skip breakfast; then during days with no classes, I tend to just sit in front of the computer the whole day without taking breaks.

And now I think I'm going to get sick. D: Maybe I should really start changing these bad habits..
